If the NCAA tournament started today, the Tennessee Vols would be the first team left out of the dance.
At least according to CBS Sports' Jerry Palm.
The Florida Gators, who are 12-7 like the Vols, are in Palm's latest bracket prediction as a No. 11 seed.
Tennessee obviously has some work to do if they're going to make the NCAA tournament for a third straight season.
The Vols probably need to go at least 7-5 the rest of the season to have a legitimate chance (going 8-4, which would get the Vols to 20 wins, would probably increase their odds a lot).
Unfortunately for Tennessee, they have two games remanning against Kentucky and two against Auburn. If they can steal a game against either team, I'll feel a lot better about their chances to make the tournament.
The Vols proved against Kansas they can hang with anyone in the country. If UT makes the tournament, they can at least make some noise.
I think this is a Tennessee team that will hit their stride in March. They're a team still learning to play together, but once it all comes together they could certainly be dangerous.
