The offense for the Philadelphia Eagles has plenty of talent. Between A.J. Brown and Devonta Smith at wide receiver and Dallas Goedert at tight end, they have impressive pass catchers. Miles Sanders, Kenny Gainwell, and Boston Scott round out their running back room. Their offensive line is elite. It all comes down to QB Jalen Hurts.

So far in training camp, his development from last season is clear. He is taking care of the ball better, and he is trusting his arm downfield more often.

The completion percentage has dipped just a bit, but the that is to be expected if he is taking more chances downfield. Those chances are clearly more calculated as he is throwing less interceptions so far this year, though.

The Eagles need Hurts to take care of the ball. They also need him to trust himself and his receivers in the middle of the field. Dallas Goedert should get closer to eighty targets, rather than the 56 he had last season. Both top receivers will get 100+ targets. Hurts must spread the ball around for the Eagles.

This year is the ultimate test for Hurts. If he cannot get it done in Nick Sirianni's offense this year, they may move on from him. The Eagles believe they can contend for the division title, and they certainly can with their roster. Hurts must continue to show this development throughout the season in order for them to reach their goals.
