The New Orleans Saints got their fair share of injury news last season. So far this year, they have avoided major injuries in the preseason for the most part. Friday's game abasing the Chargers brought an unfortunate injury to rookie offensive lineman Trevor Penning, though.
Penning was not in line to start at offensive tackle. That being said, he needed time and reps to develop. Now, he must stay on the sidelines to recover. Hopefully,y the process goes smoothly, and Penning can be back on the field sometime during the regular season.
Penning was one of the Saints' two first-round picks in this year's NFL Draft. Wide receiver Chris Olave was the other.
Expect James Hurst to start at the tackle spot opposite of Ryan Ramczyk for the time being.
