By midmorning on Wednesday, the biggest Kansas City Chiefs news of the day so far was the signing of free-agent safety Deon Bush.

Bush has spent the last six years with the Chicago Bears.

The former Miami Hurricanes standout has mostly been a backup safety and special-teams contributor for the Bears. This is mostly a depth move for the Chiefs.

After the signing, Bush took a minute to say hello to Chiefs fans on Twitter. But it wasn't exactly great timing, thanks to the news that Tyreek Hill had been traded to the Miami Dolphins.

I don't think Chiefs fans were quite as welcoming as they are normally. Certainly understandable considering the Hill trade, though.

At least Kansas City fans know Bush has a great sense of humor.
