Kansas City Chiefs fans probably aren't going to like what former NFL quarterback Chris Simms had to say this week.
Simms said at the NFL scouting combine this week that Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is the best player in football and has outplayed Patrick Mahomes the last two years.
Now, don't get me wrong, Allen is great. But he's not Mahomes. And he hasn't outplayed Mahomes.
For starters, Mahomes has more passing yards over the last two years (while playing one less game) than Allen. The KC quarterback has a better record as a quarterback, too (Mahomes is 26-6 while Allen is 24-9).
Mahomes is also 3-1 against Allen the last two years (including the playoffs).
I don't want to take anything away from Allen, he really is one of the players in the game. But what Simms is saying just isn't accurate. And it's disrespectful to Mahomes.
Maybe Simms has something personal against Mahomes. I'm not sure. Whatever the case, he looks foolish for his comments this week.
