Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid spoke to the media on Tuesday at the NFL Draft combine in Indianapolis.

And the Chiefs head coach said exactly what KC fans needed him to say.

Last month, after the Super Bowl, there was an unverified report floating around that there was a rift between Kansas City offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy and the rest of the organization.

Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill quickly shot down the report.

On Tuesday, Reid spoke on the report. And he denied all of it.

"This whole thing with Eric Bieniemy that's gotten kind of fabricated … we all get along, I'm glad he's back with us," said Reid.

"I just wanted to put that to rest," added Reid.

It was really important that Reid came out on Tuesday and strongly denied the Bieniemy rumors.

For one — and really most importantly — the rumors weren't fair to Biemieny. They painted him as the bad guy, which isn't the case. And I think those rumors would even further hurt Bieniemy's attempt to get a head coaching job (it's still shocking he isn't a head coach yet).

Secondly, the Chiefs just don't need that kind of drama around the franchise this offseason. Even though the rumors were from an unverified source, they still managed to take on a life of their own. And unfortunately, a lot of folks see the rumors and just take them as fact. But Reid spoke loudly on Tuesday and made it clear that it was all fabricated.

Reid did what a leader is supposed to do. And that's why the Chiefs are one of the best teams in the NFL.
