The Kansas City Chiefs have a plethora of picks in the 2022 NFL Draft, which means they're set up to make a big move if they so desire.

And that's exactly what the Chiefs do in NFL.com's Chad Reuter's latest mock draft. The Chiefs lost one of the game's best receivers in Tyreek Hill a few weeks ago. They've made a couple of signings in JuJu Smith-Schuster and Marquez Valdes-Scantling to help mitigate the loss of Hill, but they still need more help.

They find that help via a proposed trade up with the Baltimore Ravens. Reuter has the Chiefs trading pick Nos. 29 and 30 for No. 14 overall and one of the Ravens' fourth-rounders. The Chiefs then select Alabama receiver Jameson Williams with said 14th pick.

Per Reuter:

The Chiefs package the 29th and 30th overall selections and send them to the Ravens for the right to draft Williams. (They also receive one of Baltimore's five fourth-rounders in the trade.) The Alabama receiver would likely have been a top-10 pick if healthy and, when back at 100 percent, will be a terror catching passes from Patrick Mahomes.

There are pros and cons with this move

Receiver isn't the only position in need of help/an upgrade. The Chiefs have big questions at corner and with their pass rush. They also need help at safety after losing Daniel Sorensen and Tyrann Mathieu. Justin Reid will take over Mathieu's spot and Deon Bush is in the mix, but a good, young player to rotate in and out of the lineup would be a tremendous help. Especially considering how many defensive backs Steve Spagnuolo uses on the field at times.

The Chiefs could find quality help for two of those positions if they don't make the proposed trade in this mock draft. Plus, no one really knows how ready Williams will be in 2022. Williams says he's ahead of schedule, but ACL recovery timelines are never guaranteed – even with all of the improvements in recent years.

At the same time, however, the Chiefs do have two solid receivers in MVS and Smith-Schuster and Travis Kelce is still around. Mecole Hardman is in the mix and Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Jerrick McKinnon, and Darrel Williams are all solid receivers, as well.

Meaning, the Chiefs could afford to give Williams a redshirt year or ease him in. They don't need him to start right away. Going through with either option ensures there won't be any setbacks with Williams and that makes sense considering the price the Chiefs hypothetically pay in this mock draft.

And the Chiefs will have what is supposed to be the draft's best receiver and an incredible playmaker once Williams is good to go. That not only gives Patrick Mahomes an extremely dangerous weapon, but it offsets the loss of Hill, at the same time.
