Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott caught a few strays during Super Bowl LVI.
Prescott, who has never appeared in a Super Bowl, was minding his own business on Sunday evening when a Twitter user pointed out that Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon now has more Super Bowl touchdown passes than Prescott.
Ouch.
It's true. Mixon has thrown more touchdown passes (one) in the Super Bowl than Prescott.
But Mixon didn't leave Los Angeles with a Super Bowl ring on Sunday evening, so does it really matter? It's the Super Bowl. It's win or go home. No one cares about the runner-up.
Prescott, who is only 28, is still one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. The stars just haven't aligned for him and the Cowboys yet. But next season brings new opportunities. And Dallas is as talented as any team in the league. The Cowboys will once again be the favorites in the NFC East.
Maybe 2022 is the year Prescott finally silences the haters.
