The Denver Broncos have plenty of storylines throughout this season, and throughout Week 1 that only make the newest season of our favorite TV show, NFL football, a lot more interesting.
Of course, Week 1 is the biggest of all the storylines. We know about Russell Wilson getting to play his former team, one he won a Super Bowl with, in Week 1 on primetime TV.
In what should be a great game, maybe not for Seattle Seahawks fans, we will likely see one other storyline that I don't think most of us have thought about.
When the Broncos traded for Wilson, they had to give some stuff up, too. Shelby Harris was a key piece in that trade. Without him, the Seahawks probably wouldn't have done it.
That is the storyline that everyone is forgetting about going into Week 1, and we will have front-row seats to it.
Harris may look for revenge against the Broncos
The Seahawks definitely aren't the legion of boom anymore, but I think we all knew that. That defense, much like the Broncos' no-fly zone and orange crush, was amazing.
This defense the Seahawks have could be sneaky good, though, all because of Shelby Harris. He may even want a revenge game because of how he was traded away, as I'm sure that can never be a good feeling.
It was very noticeable last season that Harris was getting better., as he finished with six sacks on the year. He has 22 career sacks and can get to the quarterback if teams aren't careful, and he could do that on Monday.
That's exactly why no one is talking about that storyline as well. We know Wilson may want to get that win against his former team out of spite, but what about Harris? He was traded too, which has to make him feel some type of way.
Harris is better than people may think. In fact, he may be the Seahawks' best defensive lineman. Oh, and let's not forget about the problems the offensive line could have in Week 1 as Billy Turner has missed some time, and a few others haven't looked the best in preseason either.
While yes, the Wilson storyline is bigger, watch for how Harris plays against the Broncos. He and Noah Fant, both former Broncos, could have huge games based on the potential game script.
No matter what happens during the game, football is back, and we couldn't be more excited.
