Philadelphia Eagles, Howie Roseman

The Philadelphia Eagles are going to be very, very good in 2022. They have an amazing receiving corps, an awesome defense, a great quarterback that fits their play style, and the best offensive line in football.

They also, in many people's opinions, have the best general manager in all of football.

No one is doing what Howie Roseman is doing. Look at what he has built, and look at what he is doing to continue building the team. There aren't many general managers that can do what he's doing.

That very reason is why he may win executive of the year. As a matter of fact, he may already have the award locked up, and here are three reasons why.

1. The Eagles finessed the Minnesota Vikings

Jalen Reagor, some of you may know him, didn't have a long stay in Philadelphia. He and most fans also didn't get along very well either, as there are screenshots of him and a fan going back and forth, with Reagor sharing some explicit language.

Reagor was a first-round pick in the 2020 NFL draft out of TCU. Reagor was selected a pick ahead of Justin Jefferson, who is a top-five receiver in the league right now, Brandon Aiyuk, Michael Pittman Jr., Chase Claypool, and Tee Higgins, all of who are having much better careers than Reagor.

Roseman was able to get a conditional 2024 fourth-round pick and a 2023 seventh-round pick for Reagor from the Vikings. The craziest part is that's more than what the Cowboys got for Amari Cooper.

2. Roseman helps defense with Chauncey Gardner-Johnson

The Eagles were in need some another defensive back that had starting caliber skill. One of the last pieces they needed was a guy who can do it all in the defensive backfield. They got just that in Gardner-Johnson, for very cheap, too.

Roseman was able to get Gardner-Johnson and a 2025 seventh-round pick for a 2023 fifth-round pick and a 2023 sixth-round pick. Roseman is absolutely dominating the call lines.

3. Got Brown for cheap and locked up a good contract

The Eagles were in dire need of some more receiving weapons for Jalen Hurts in 2022. Last year was tough in that department, as the leading receivers were rookie DeVonta Smith and Quez Watkins. Don't get me wrong, those two are great.

However, they still needed more. The Eagles needed a true wide receiver one, and now they have that.

The Eagles traded their 2022 19th overall pick to the Tennessee Titans for A.J. Brown, straight up. That pick became Treylon Burks, the talented receiver out of Arkansas. While Burks will be great in the future, Brown is better right now, and the Eagles are in win-now mode.

Roseman was also able to go ahead and lock up Brown on a great contract the moment the trade went through. Brown was unhappy with the Titans and wanted a new contract, so the trade went through, and now Brown is an Eagle getting paid $100 million over the next four years, with $57 million Guaranteed.

Roseman is killing it right now, and before the season even starts, they should go ahead and give out the Executive of The Year award already.
