Just days after the Kansas City Chiefs gave defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo a contract extension, they've locked up another key member of their coaching staff.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on Twitter (X) that the Chiefs have given special teams coordinator Dave Toub a brand-new three-year contract. Toub was coaching on the last year of his previous contract this past season, which expired after Super Bowl LVIII. He is now locked in with Kansas City through the 2026 season.

Toub came to K.C. back in 2013 with head coach Andy Reid. His special teams units have consistently ranked near the top of the NFL since his arrival, and he is considered one of the best special teams coordinators ever. In 2018 Toub was named the Chiefs' assistant head coach. There was a time when Toub was a hot head coach candidate, but it never panned out and has died down in recent years.

Toub has been instrumental in churning out multiple Pro Bowl special teams players such as Tommy Townsend, Harrison Butker, Tyreek Hill, Dexter McCluster, Mecole Hardman, D.J. Alexander and Dustin Colquitt. With Reid, Spagnulo and Toub set to be back next year, the Chiefs can now focus in on going for a three-peat.
