The Buffalo Bills have the second worst cap situation in the NFL.

They enter the 2024 offseason $51 million over the cap. Only the New Orleans Saints are in a worst spot, as they sit at a whopping $81 million over the cap.

The Bills will have to make some tough decisions when it comes to veteran players. And that may include saying goodbye to these three fan favorites.

C Mitch Morse

Morse is 31, and he'll be 32 when the 2024 season starts. While that isn't necessarily "old" for an offensive lineman, especially not one who consistently starts all 17 games and produces, the Bills can save over $8 million if they cut or trade him. If Buffalo thinks they can find a cheaper option, or just draft his replacement, that may be a move they need to make.

S Jordan Poyer

Poyer was still productive at age 32, but the Bills have a similar conundrum with him that they do with Morse. Age wise, they need to look to get younger, and Poyer is expensive. They can save almost $5.5 million if they release him. I'd expect the Bills to draft a safety at some point, as well as bring in a middle-of-the-pack option.

CB Tre'Davious White

White has missed 24 of the Bills' last 34 regular season games, and Buffalo can save roughly $6 million if they cut or trade him. Rasul Douglas and Christian Benford proved to be one of the best cornerback tandems in the NFL in White's absence, and he is currently the fifth highest-paid player on the team. As great of a player as he's been since being drafted back in 2017, it's best for Buffalo to go the money-saving route here.
