The Tennessee Vols have managed to keep their entire on-field coaching staff intact this offseason, but they could be in danger of losing a key assistant according to a new report.

On3's Matt Zenitz reported on Friday afternoon that the Jacksonville Jaguars are interested in hiring Tennessee running backs coach Jerry Mack.

Mack was part of Josh Heupel's inaugural coaching staff at Tennessee in 2021.

This past season, under Mack's guidance, Vols running back Jaylen Wright rushed for 1,013 yards, becoming Tennessee's first 1,000 yard rusher since Jalen Hurd in 2015.

Prior to his time at Tennessee, Mack served as the offensive coordinator at Rice. He was also the head coach at North Carolina Central from 2014 to 2017. Mack doesn't have any previous NFL experience.

Earlier this offseason, Mack was one of several coaches that Middle Tennessee State showed interest in for their head coaching vacancy, a job that eventually went to former Vanderbilt head coach Derek Mason.

Update:

Football Scoop's John Brice is reporting that Mack is "trending" toward landing with the Jaguars.
