Everyday, more and more notable voices are coming out to defend Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields amid his uncertain future with the team.

The Bears are in current possession of the first overall pick in the NFL Draft for the second year in a row and this time all signs point toward the front office selecting a new franchise quarterback and moving away from having Fields as their starter.

Another credible name in the football community as come out to voice his support for the young quarterback, NFL legend and former Atlanta Falcons' number one overall pick, Michael Vick.

While appearing on the Green Light podcast with former NFL star Chris Long, Vick shared his thoughts on the Bears upcoming decision and how he feels about the team's current starter at Super Bowl LVIII's Radio Row.

"I really want [Fields] to take that next step," Vick said. "I think he's more than capable and I know you can only go as far as what your offensive coordinator gives to you. But, there's times when you can go outside of that. He's so skilled that [the Bears] should be in the playoffs or competing to be in the playoffs."

The Bears finished the 2023 season with a 7-10 record looking outside of the playoffs while being last in the division once again. However, the season was an improvement overall despite the outcome. With Fields as the starter down the stretch, the team won four of their last six games but couldn't close out the games that mattered most.

As for their quarterback overall, Fields still struggled at times but finished the season setting new career-highs in multiple passing categories. Following the season, the team moved on from offensive coordinator Luke Getsy and the majority of the offensive assistants and brought in a whole new staff led by Shane Waldron.

Many Bears fans, and even players inside the locker room, are hoping to see Fields return to Chicago for a fourth season with the new system in place and it seems like Vick feels the same way.

The Bears' offense under Getsy was never a perfect fit for Fields' skillset and the offense as a whole failed to adapt or adjust to the pieces the team had in place. It's a hard situation to show growth in as a player and it's tough to put all of the blame on the starting quarterback.

However, it's also a results-driven league and quite frankly the Bears haven't been able to show any over the past three seasons with Fields at the helm. With the front office staring down at one of the best quarterback prospects ever in Caleb Williams, it'll take a lot to sway the front office in the other direction.

Everyone wants to see Fields take that next step but it's the same conversation people have had for the last two years. At some point something has to give and the Bears' front office will have a major decision to make in the near future.
