The Philadelphia Eagles are in need of more than one upgrade at linebacker and how they address that position in the draft or free agency remains to be seen.
But according to Jake Rabadi of Philly Birds Country, the Eagles have a "ton of interest" in Texas A&M linebacker Edgerrin Cooper.
"Texas A&M LB Edgerrin Cooper is a guy the Eagles have a ton of interest in, I’m told," Rabadi wrote on X/Twitter. "He met with the team at the East-West Shrine Bowl & the Eagles have continued to show interest in Cooper. They’ll probably meet with him at the combine and I think Cooper could see himself in Philadelphia for a top-30 visit."
Cooper, a 6-foot-3 and 230-pound off-ball linebacker, had a monster season for the Aggies in 2023. He registered 84 total tackles and a team-high 17 tackles for loss. He was also just one of two SEC off-ball linebackers to finish with at least eight sacks this past year.
Cooper is projected to be a top-20 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
The Eagles have already met with and will meet with several draft prospects in the coming weeks so take the news with a grain of salt.
However, with an off-ball linebacker being a priority need for Philly this offseason, Cooper is certainly a name to watch.

Another smart move.
