Tennessee Vols fans should love what 2025 four-star defensive lineman Jarquez Carter had to say recently about attending a UT football practice back in December.
Carter is set to visit Knoxville on March 21 for the first time since visiting Tennessee in mid December.
That mid December visit made a big impression on Carter thanks mostly to the vibes at a Tennessee practice that he checked out.
“I like their d-line and what Coach (Rodney) Garner has been able to produce," said Carter to On3 this week. "I definitely love him as a coach…I love the whole coaching staff."
"During my December visit, I remember the practice and the competition,” add Carter. “Everybody was competitive and the practice was energetic. It made me feel alive watching that.”
You gotta love hearing that if you're a Tennessee fan. "It made me feel alive watching that" is quite a quote about a football practice.
It's clear that recruits love what they're seeing at Tennessee. Ultimately, the best football players in the world just want to compete. And that's obviously what's happening at Tennessee. It might be a fun family atmosphere under Josh Heupel on Rocky Top, but it's also extremely competitive.
Carter, 6-foot-2/284 lbs from Newberry, FL, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 32 defensive lineman in the nation.
According to On3, Carter could announce his commitment before his senior season begins this fall.
