Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons made headlines during a recent appearance on "The Stephen A. Smith Show."
Parsons took some time to come to the defense of Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott. He questioned that "Besides Patrick Mahomes, what other quarterback in the AFC has accomplished anything to get more credit than Dak?"
ESPN analyst Louis Riddick took a bit of exception to Parsons’ take about Prescott. During an airing of ESPN’s "Get Up" program on Wednesday, Riddick claimed that teams across the AFC do not "fear" Prescott. Instead, it is the likes of Baltimore Ravens’ Lamar Jackson and Cincinnati Bengals' Joe Burrow who continue to stress them out quite a bit.
"See when that question, where he said like what quarterback in the AFC has done more than Dak, I can tell you this, from talking to teams in the AFC, from talking to people at the Kansas City Chiefs, I'll tell you the kind of quarterbacks that they fear," Riddick said. "And I love Dak Prescott, nobody fearing Dak Prescott.
"They fear Josh Allen. They fear Lamar [Jackson]. They fear Joe [Burrow], because of his mind, because they feel as though he can duel with Patrick on the same level."
Jackson has a pair of NFL MVP awards in his trophy cabinet, while Burrow has led the Bengals to the biggest game in the sport. Riddick also brought up Buffalo Bills passer Josh Allen, who has won five playoff games. Prescott, on the other hand, holds a 2-5 record in his playoff career.
Prescott sure will have much to prove in his upcoming eighth season with the Cowboys.
