It has been nearly a month since the Cleveland Browns have played football and the NFL Draft is going to be here before you know it.
Cleveland is going to have eight selections in the seven-round draft that will take place April 25-27 in Detroit, Michigan.
The Browns won’t have a first-round pick just like the previous two seasons. Still, there is plenty of talent to be had later in the draft.
With that being said, let’s get into a three-round mock draft that I did for the Browns. Below are Cleveland’s selections in the second and third rounds.
Round 2, Pick 55 WR Xavier Worthy (Texas):
Cleveland needs to continue to add to the wide receiver room and if Worthy is here they should sprint to the podium. Worthy was a big-time playmaker at Texas and he brings game-breaking speed to the field. Worthy is an explosive athlete and a good route runner. As a junior, Worthy caught 75 passes for 1,014 receiving yards and four touchdowns in 2023. Elite production in college and would be a welcomed addition in Cleveland. Only Amari Cooper, Elijah Moore, Cedric Tillman, and David Bell are likely on the team in 2024 as of right now.
Round 3, Pick 86 LB Payton Wilson (North Carolina State):
I went best available here and was not disappointed. A bit older than the Browns like with being a fifth-year senior, but the talent is there. In 2023, Wilson had 138 tackles, six sacks, three interceptions, and a forced fumble. Wilson is a quick linebacker who is rangy and tackles everything with physicality. Anthony Walker Jr. and Sione Takitaki are both set to be free agents. While this isn’t the biggest need, it makes sense if the board falls this way.
