Former Tennessee Vols basketball standout Grant Williams is on a hot streak after getting traded from the Dallas Mavericks to the Charlotte Hornets earlier this month.

Williams, who is from Charlotte, is averaging 18.8 points per game and 5.5 rebounds per game since joining the Hornets. Charlotte is 4-0 since acquiring Williams.

On Thursday night, Williams went off for 24 points and helped the Hornets secure their first road win against the Utah Jazz since the 2005-06 season.

Charlotte's last win in Utah came when the franchise was known as the Bobcats.

Hornets head coach Steve Clifford credits Williams for Charlotte's recent resurgence, telling reporters that the former Vol is like a middle linebacker that organizes the defense.
