Patrick Peterson is open to the possibility of reuniting with Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins in Pittsburgh.
During a recent episode of the "All Things Covered" podcast, Peterson took some time to touch on his team's quarterback situation. Former Steelers cornerback Bryant McFadden asked Peterson about "potential quarterback names that could be available" for Pittsburgh, including the likes of Cousins and Denver Broncos' Russell Wilson. Without much hesitation, Peterson went on to make a case for why he would like to see Cousins take his talents to the Steelers.
"Who I really like out of those is Kirk Cousins, obviously," Peterson said. "Honestly I've been around Kirk, we need a quarterback that got the leadership that he carries and brings every single day. And this is not a knock on Kenny, just we haven't seen it before."
There has been some outside talk regarding the possibility of Cousins signing with the Steelers in free agency. ProFootballTalk’s Mike Florio recently fueled such speculation when he noted that he thinks that Cousins’ camp is "keeping an eye" on the Steelers.
Peterson ultimately does not believe that Cousins will make his way to the Steelers in the coming month. McFadden predicted that Cousins will sign off on a two-year, $90 million deal in free agency. McFadden added that the four-time Pro Bowler "ain’t getting that from Pittsburgh," to which Peterson agreed.
Cousins will become an unrestricted free agent in March, and he is expected to receive quite a payday.
