The Philadelphia Eagles face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Round 1 of the NFL playoffs tonight.
Win or lose, Eagles offensive coordinator Brian Johnson will interview with the Tennessee Titans for their open head coach position sometime after the game, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Whether or not that means directly following the game remains to be seen. It would be about midnight for Johnson and 11 p.m. CT for Tennessee.
Or Johnson could interview on Tuesday morning.
The interviews, for now, will all take place virtually until the Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs wrap up on Jan. 21.
Although Johnson said earlier in the week that he's focused on the playoffs, this interview has to be weighing on his mind in some capacity.
Johnson has never been a head coach before and taking over the Titans would be a major step in his football career.
But it is important that he stays focused on calling a good game. After all, beating the Buccaneers in the playoffs and advancing to the next round would look a hell of a lot better on his resume than another loss.
So for that, let's hope this interview he has coming gives him motivation rather than an unnecessary distraction.
Johnson is also up for the Carolina Panthers head coach job.
