Brock Purdy wrote the most incredible chapter yet in the storybook start to his NFL career as he guided the San Francisco 49ers to the Super Bowl with a remarkable comeback in the NFC Championship Game.

Purdy, one week on from his game-winning drive in the divisional round against the Green Bay Packers, stunningly led the 49ers back from a 17-point deficit against the Detroit Lions to send the Niners to Las Vegas and a matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs.

It was a fightback that will secure his place in 49er franchise legend regardless of what happens in Super Bowl 58 and, in a season in which Purdy has continually rewrote the record books, saw him join a select group of quarterbacks with his latest and most improbable postseason victory.

The win was Purdy's fourth of his playoff career. As a result of his and the 49ers' Herculean recovery effort, he became only the fourth starting quarterback to win four playoff games in his first two career seasons in NFL history.

He joins Russell Wilson, Mark Sanchez (both four) and Ben Roethlisberger (five) in that exclusive group.

Having displayed the ability to maintain his composure and make game-changing plays to lead his team out of seemingly dire situations, more postseason wins are in Purdy's future as the quarterback of a talent-laden team and with the beautiful offensive mind of Kyle Shanahan calling the plays.

Purdy will hope his next one comes on the biggest stage and sees him move level with Roethlisberger. However, in terms of the manner of victory, he will struggle to craft one as memorable as the triumph he orchestrated against Detroit.
