NASHVILLE — After casting a wide net and conducting an extensive search, the Tennessee Titans have found their next head coach in Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan.
Callahan is a football lifer that has been the OC in Cincinnati since 2019 working alongside head coach Zac Taylor at building one of the most explosive passing offenses in the sport.
Last week, I wrote on Callahan and detailed why he was my ideal candidate for the Titans to hire. He brings something to the table no other coach can. Now, Tennessee has converted on hiring him.
The ideal candidate to become the Tennessee Titans next head coach
He should be the Titans next head coach.
Callahan will give the Titans an offensive minded head coach that has extensive experience working with quarterbacks such as Peyton Manning, Derek Carr, Matthew Stafford, and Joe Burrow.
His resumé is impressive standing on its own, but one of my favorite things about Callahan is the potential staff he could bring with him to Nashville. Having spent his entire lifetime around the game, Callahan has relationships and ties to some of the best run organizations in the league. He should have no trouble finding a staff that elevates the Titans’ roster.
One of those impactful coaching hire could be his father; Bill Callahan, who is currently the offensive line coach for the Cleveland Browns.
Bill Callahan

Bill Callahan is a former NFL and collegiate head coach that has been an offensive line coach in the league since 2008. Over the last 15+ years, the senior Callahan has been the OL coach with the New York Jets, Dallas Cowboys, Washington Redskins, and Cleveland Browns.
In order for Bill to leave Cleveland and join his son in Tennessee, one of two things would need to happen. The Browns would have to grant Bill permission to leave. But given the circumstances and opportunity, Browns beat writer for Cleveland.Com Mary Kay Cabot believes that could happen.
Whatever it takes to get Bill Callahan on board his son’s coaching staff, the Titans would be wise to make it happen. He has consistently led one of the most productive offensive lines in the league. The Browns offensive line is frequently ranked in the Top 10 across the league by PFF and the unit has been an essential part of the Cleveland Browns returning to NFL relevancy over the last few seasons.
Developing Will Levis should be the Titans’ top priority, and as Titans fans know well by now, protecting your quarterback is essential if he’s going to succeed. Bill Callahan can help with that. It’s another reason Brian Callahan was the right hire for Tennessee.
Why the Titans’ decision to hire Brian Callahan to replace Mike Vrabel is a huge risk
Risky move if you look beyond the surface
