The NFL has made quite an important announcement regarding this year's Super Bowl. They have their refereeing crew finalized. The teams are not known quite yet, but the officials are public a few weeks out. 

The head referee for Super Bowl LVIII will be Bill Vinovich. 

Why is that factoid relevant for the New Orleans Saints? They will not be playing.

Vinovich was an official involved in the controversial 2019 NFC Championship game. The infamous 'no call' on Nickell Robey-Coleman proved extremely costly for the Saints as they lost 26-23 to the Los Angeles Rams. 

Saints fans know the play well, and it still brings rage to the forefront of their minds. Now, Vinovich somehow gets another opportunity on the NFL's biggest stage. 

The decision by the league is yet another laugh in the face to fans that expect a fairly-officiated, well-officiated football game when it matters most. With Vinovich and co., those expectations may just have to be thrown out the window.
