Over the last three seasons, no program in the country has thrown fewer interceptions than Tennessee Vols quarterbacks.

According to Bill Martin, Tennessee's director of strategic communications, the 11 interceptions thrown by Vols quarterbacks over the last three seasons are the fewest among all FBS programs.

The next closest Power-5 program is Colorado with 17 interceptions during that span.

In the three seasons prior to Heupel's arrival, Tennessee's quarterbacks threw 27 interceptions.

(It's worth noting that there have been 39 games played by Tennessee during Heupel's three seasons, while there were 35 games played by the Vols in the three seasons before Heupel was hired.)

One of the interceptions thrown by Tennessee in 2022 came from then-fourth string quarterback Gaston Moore on the final play of the Vols' blowout win against UT-Martin.

The Heupel effect on quarterbacks is real. He puts his quarterbacks in situations where they're set up for success while rarely failing. It's easy to see why Heupel and the Vols are dominating on the recruiting trail when it comes to landing elite quarterbacks.
