Philadelphia Eagles starting safety Reed Blankenship did not participate in practice all week while he worked through a groin injury on the side.

Head coach Nick Sirianni didn't want to rule him out until the last possible second and instead listed Blankenship as questionable against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

But after Blankenship tested his injury out during pre-game, the Eagles decided to sideline him for this wild-card matchup.

Six other Eagles will not suit up tonight.

Here is the Eagles' full list of Eagles inactives vs. the Bucs:

  • WR A.J. Brown (knee)
  • S Sydney Brown (torn ACL)
  • S Reed Blankenship (groin)
  • RB Rashaad Penny
  • DT Moro Ojomo
  • OL Tyler Steen
  • QB Tanner McKee

The Eagles prepared for a Blankenship's potential absence this week and had cornerback Avonte Maddox taking reps at safety during practice.

Philly also elevated cornerback Mekhi Garner and safety Tristin McCollum this afternoon for some extra cushion at the position.
