The Baltimore Ravens are not expected to activate tight end Mark Andrews off injured reserve ahead of their AFC divisional round matchup against the Houston Texans, as noted by the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Andrews has been on the injured reserve list since he suffered a reported cracked fibula and ankle ligament injury during the Ravens’ home win over the Cincinnati Bengals in November. He underwent successful surgery on his ankle in the following week and was later placed on injured reserve.
The Ravens designated Andrews to return from IR last Friday. He went on to take part in each of Baltimore’s three practice sessions this week, and he did not suffer any setbacks regarding his injury recovery process.
With the Ravens reportedly set to not roll out Andrews against the Texans, they are slated to call on Isaiah Likely to fill in for the three-time Pro Bowler in the contest. Likely tallied 30 receptions for 411 receiving yards and five touchdown catches over 17 regular season games played this year.
The Ravens are looking to clinch a spot in the AFC title game for the first time in 11 years.
