The Philadelphia Eagles are making a coaching change. No, it is not Nick Sirianni.

Instead, Sirianni has decided to fire defensive coordinator Sean Desai.

The move is one that points to safety for Sirianni's future in Philly, at least for now. If his position was not guaranteed for next year, he would not have been given the freedom to move on from the assistant.

Additionally, this is not the first negative move handed down to Desai from Sirianni as of late. Late in the regular season, Desai's play-calling abilities were taken away from him. Sirianni gave those duties to Matt Patricia.

That was an incredibly questionable move by the head coach.

That decision blew up in the Eagles face as the defense showed zero signs of improvement after that choice. In fact, they looked as bad as they did all year in their Wild Card loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Overall, Sirianni did Desai zero favors this season. Now, the former DC will look elsewhere for another job in the NFL.
