The NFL playoffs gifted fans with another epic installment of the Kansas City Chiefs taking on the Buffalo Bills. It was the Chiefs' first road playoff game in just over eight years, which also made it the first road playoff game for quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Mahomes and Josh Allen went punch for punch in Orchard Park, but it was the reigning Super Bowl MVP that came out on top. Mahomes threw for two touchdowns and posted a passer rating of 131.6 in his first non-Super Bowl postseason performance outside of Kansas City.

It was call respectfulness coming from the two-time MVP following the final whistle, and even Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow received some of the love.

In describing what it's like to go head-to-head with Allen, Mahomes grouped Burrow and Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson in the same category.

"Every time I go up against Josh, I know that it's gonna come down to the end, just because of the competitor that he is and the player that he is. Same when I go up against Joe [Burrow], when I go up against Lamar [Jackson]. All these guys," Mahomes explained. "And I know how much fire they have. They're not gonna give up to the very end, and you appreciate that stuff."

Mahomes is 4-3 all-time against Allen's Bills and had dropped the previous two contests, but he's 3-0 against him in the playoffs. He can't say the same about Burrow.

One of Mahomes' three playoff losses were bestowed to him by Burrow and the Bengals. He's yet to face Jackson in the postseason, but that will change this upcoming Sunday in the AFC title game. Their last meeting was all the way back in 2021, a game that Jackson and the Ravens won.

The hierarchy of quarterback play in the NFL is always up for debate, but Mahomes laid out the best of the best in a way that's respectful to all.
