"They showed that?" Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott asked reporters with a wide (and somewhat shy) smile when asked about him sticking his tongue out during Sunday's beatdown of the New York Giants.

That they did, Dak, and boy, did it go viral. In seconds, it was turned into a GIF and several people on social media started firing out memes.

The moment came right after Prescott found CeeDee Lamb for an improbable catch. The Cowboys quarterback threw off his back foot, tossing the football in the air. Lamb worked back to it and came up with the big-time catch.

My initial reaction to the play and I bet that of many Cowboys fans, was: Oh man, the chemistry between these two. Well, it turns out, according to Dak, he wasn't trying to tap into his bond with CeeDee. In fact, he just wanted to get rid of the ball.

"I'll be honest, I was throwing it away," Prescott confessed postgame. "But that's CeeDee Lamb being CeeDee Lamb."

Instead of taking credit for one of the most impressive plays of the game, Prescott kept it real and gave all of the credit to Lamb.

"Didn't quite get it out of bounds, and CeeDee came back, that's kind of why I stuck my tongue out," Prescott added. "Just put it in his vicinity and it's gonna be his or nobody's, that was a wild play."

Prescott added that Cooper Rush noticed he was trying to throw it away. But hey, 'tis the NFL, right? Sometimes luck intervenes and for Dak, this time it was personified as Lamb fighting hard to get to 10 catches and 150 receiving yards for a piece of NFL history.

Off-script plays like this one go a long way in proving what the Cowboys' No. 1 wide receiver wants to prove: He's the best in the game. People will have opinions on the matter but to those, Lamb has one message: "I'll see you all next week."
