The Cincinnati Bengals may've lost a heartbreaker on Sunday, but one gambling degenerate from Florida came away with a huge win.
A bettor placed a whopping $500,000(!) on a four-leg parlay, all involving the Houston Texans, that came down to kicker Matt Ammendola making a game-winning field goal vs. Cincinnati. The payout was $5.5 million.
Per ESPN's David Purdum, here is the full parlay:
- The Houston Texans to beat the Cincinnati Bengals
- The Texans-Bengals to go over 44.5 points
- Texans running back Devin Singletary to score a touchdown
- Singletary to go over 51.5 rushing yards
The Singletary props occurred first in chronological order, as the Bengals' run defense was taken aback by the former third-round pick. Singletary exceeded 51.5 yards early in the second quarter, and scored his touchdown midway through the third quarter.
Next was total points, which was reached right after C.J. Stroud's fourth quarter interception with just just 3:41 remaining. Joe Mixon punched it in to make it a 27-24 ballgame three plays later.
But the Texans still had to hold on to the lead, and thanks to Tyler Boyd's drop in the end zone with 1:42 to play, the Texans had a chance to kick a game-winning field goal if they could drive down the field.
Five plays and 55 yards later, Ammendola was set up for a 38-yarder to win, and the parlay cashed when the ball went through the uprights.
Personally, anyone with $500,000 to bet on an NFL game, and actually do it, is crazy and simply has too much money. But to the winner goes the spoils.

Cincinnati dodged a bullet, but a great challenge still remains.
