One thing that seems to keep getting overlooked is how big the win was on Sunday Night Football for the Las Vegas Raiders. They beat the New York Jets 16-12 in what was all but an offensive game. But the win was very special for the Raiders.
It wasn't just that Antonio Pierce made history with his second win but also that this team is back at .500 and is staring at a potential playoff spot over the next few weeks.
With the win, the Raiders moved into the 11th spot on the AFC side but a half-game back of the seventh seed. They are now in second place in the AFC West. So with that, here is how the AFC standings currently look:

If the playoff started today, the Raiders would not be in the playoffs. But that doesn't mean they can't make the playoffs. Eight weeks are still left, and the Raiders have seven games left, so there is plenty of time. And, the way Antonio Pierce has this team playing, it feels like there is a real chance they can make the playoffs.
There is still plenty of football left, but things are looking a lot better than they were two weeks ago. That just goes to show how quickly everything can change.
