ESPN Manning Cast Monday Night Football Week 10

There is no question who the greatest Indianapolis Colts player of all time is; it's Peyton Manning.

Last night, during Peyton and his brother Eli Manning's Monday Night Football broadcast, coined "The Manning Cast," Peyton seemed to show his fandom of the team he ended his career with, the Denver Broncos.

This isn't the first time Manning has shown his support for the Broncos; over the years, he's been involved with multiple Broncos' social media projects.

Peyton's comments on the broadcast occurred so often that when Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes joined the show, he had this to say.

"I didn't know I was joining a Broncos fan show"

After being given a hard time for his outward fandom for the Broncos, Peyton stated that he would do the same thing for the Colts.

A sentiment that Eli seemed to not fully believe as he responded by saying:

"Do you believe that, do you believe anything you just said? Thats a lie."

This is the first time I've ever seen Peyton comment on the Manning Cast always being off when the Colts are scheduled for Monday Night Football. The Manning Cast began in 2021, and since then, the Colts have appeared on Monday Night Football three times.

  • 10/11/2021 @ Baltimore Ravens
  • 11/28/2022 Vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
  • 12/26/2022 Vs. Los Angeles Chargers

The Colts didn't get a Monday Night Football game this season, so that streak continues. While I think the narrative that "Peyton hates the Colts because they cut him" is an overreaction, I think it is hard to argue against the notion that he prefers the Broncos at this point. I believe the fact that he and his family live in Denver plays a significant role in this, but for Colts fans, it'll never feel right seeing Peyton associated with anyone but their beloved horseshoe.
