The Tennessee Vols have reportedly reached out to a Texas A&M Aggies player that's in the NCAA transfer portal.

According to On3's Hayes Fawcett, Tennessee is one of 23 programs that's already reached out to Texas A&M wide receiver Raymond Cottrell, who is currently rated by 247Sports as the No. 1 transfer wide receiver.

Cottrell, 6-foot-3/210 lbs, has fours years of eligibility remaining.

The former four-star recruit from Miami, FL was offered by Josh Heupel and his staff in early 2021. Cottrell camped with the Vols later that summer, but otherwise, the Vols weren't a big player in his recruitment.

Cottrell, who was committed to Florida and Georgia before flipping to Texas A&M, caught one pass for 13 yards (which went for a touchdown) as a true freshman for the Aggies this past season.

It's not a surprise that Tennessee is showing interest in the wide receiver transfer market. We saw how quickly the Vols' wide receiver depth eroded this past season.

The transfer portal will officially open in early December and remain open for 45 days. There will be another portal window (15 days) in late April.
