Former Vanderbilt QB Diego Pavia gets brutal reality check as NFL training camps get underway
Former Vanderbilt QB Diego Pavia got some tough news on Thursday.
Former Vanderbilt Commodores quarterback Diego Pavia’s last great moment on a football field may have happened last November in Knoxville.
Pavia, of course, led the Commodores to a blowout win over Tennessee in Neyland in his final regular season college football game.
The former Vanderbilt quarterback then went unselected in the 2026 NFL Draft and signed with the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent.
On Thursday, Pavia was waived by the Ravens before the start of training camp.
It’s a bit of a surprise that Pavia didn’t even get a chance to show what he can do in training camp, but the Ravens must have felt certain he wouldn’t make an impact for them.
I’m sure Pavia will get another chance with a team, but he’s clearly going to have an uphill battle to climb to make an NFL roster.
