While many are expecting the New England Patriots to be sellers at the deadline, it appears they have inquired about one big name in the league.

According to The Athletic's Jeff Howe, the Patriots have made some calls, checking the price on Washington Commanders defensive end Chase Young.

Young has been with the Commanders for his entire career, getting drafted in the first round, with the second overall pick, in 2020.

He was named the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2020, along with going to the Pro Bowl, finishing the year with 44 tackles, 7.5 sacks, four forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.

Across his four seasons, Young has a total of 90 tackles, 14 sacks, six forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries.

The Patriots top trade candidate at the moment is linebacker Josh Uche, who like Young, is on the last year of his rookie deal.

Howe further reported that along with Uche, Ezekiel Elliott has received interest from other teams.

The trade deadline is 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday.
