The Green Bay Packers didn't stay completely quiet during this year's NFL trade deadline.

They elected to trade away veteran CB Rasul Douglas and a 2024 5th-round pick to the Buffalo Bills for a 2024 3rd-round pick. An interesting element to this trade came out after, though, from Bleacher Report NFL Insider Jordan Schultz.

After the Chicago Bears elected not to accept the Bills offers for CB Jaylon Johnson, the Bills pivoted to the Packers, leading them to gain a 2024 3rd-round pick.

This is the 2nd straight deadline where the Packers and Bears find themselves in a post-trade update. Last year, after the Bears traded a 2nd round pick for WR Chase Claypool, it was reported that the Packers were also in negotiations for the WR. A year later, Claypool has already been moved to the Miami Dolphins, so it seems the Packers dodged a bullet on that one.
