The Cincinnati Bengals are bringing up wide receiver and special teams ace Stanley Morgan from the practice squad for Sunday night's primetime game against the Buffalo Bills.
Morgan is classified as standard elevation. As a practice squad player being elevated to the active roster for the game, he automatically will revert to the practice squad on Monday.
This will be Morgan's first time making an appearance this season, but he's very used to this stage for a practice squad player.
As an undrafted free agent following the 2019 NFL Draft, Morgan signed with the Bengals and has been on the roster ever since in some capacity. He's played 48 career regular season games and has played in four of the team's seven playoff games the past two seasons.
He's listed as a wide receiver, but Morgan has become valuable as a blocker in the run game, and a weapon on special teams. He logged over 700 special teams snaps over the past two seasons, and over 900 for his career thus far.
Considering the Bengals lost one of their best special teams contributors this week when safety Tycen Anderson was placed on the Reserve/Injured list, this seems to be the reason for Morgan's surprise elevation. They'll need him to replace what Anderson provided this season.

Bad luck just keeps finding him.
