The San Francisco 49ers have an open spot on the offensive line depth chart after backup Nick Zakelj was placed on injured reserve with a torn bicep.

Zakelj, who can play guard and center, suffered the injury in the 49ers' Week 10 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Kyle Shanahan indicated the 49ers would hold tryouts in the search for a replacement, and they have done just that, with three offensive linemen brought in for workouts.

Among them, guard Keaton Sutherland, who played for the 49ers last preseason and was briefly a member of the practice squad.

The Niners also worked out guard Jeremiah Kolone, who played five games for the Los Angeles Rams last season, and center Michal Menet, who has spent time with the Arizona Cardinals, Green Bay Packers and Atlanta Falcons.

San Francisco has several interior line options on the practice squad, including rookies Corey Luciano, Ilm Manning and Henry Byrd and former Miami Dolphins veteran Jesse Davis.
