There can't be rumors of Tom Brady returning to the NFL without mentioning Rob Gronkowski. And that is exactly what is happening.
Brady's name was being tossed around as a possibility to fill the vacancy left on the New York Jets roster after Aaron Rodgers suffered a season-ending injury. With that, many questioned if Brady's favorite target would also join him if he came back.
However, Gronkowski has put an end to all those rumors.
According to NFL Insider Jordan Schultz, he spoke with Gronkowski who continues to be questioned about an NFL return. However the former Patriots and Buccaneers tight end had a clear response to all that.
“Nope. I’m done,” Gronk told Schultz.
And even if Brady were to come out of retirement, Gronkowski admitted that his playing days are over.
Gronkowski began his career with the Patriots in 2010, being selected in the second round. He went on to play in New England for nine seasons, winning three Super Bowls.
He initially retired after his time with the Patriots, but returned and asked to be traded to the Buccaneers in 2020 after Brady left to join Tampa Bay. The duo went on to win one more Super Bowl together.
So while there might always be teams calling to inquire about a potential return, Gronkowski has made his answer very clear.
