Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow wasn't around these parts when Marvin Lewis was the head coach of the franchise, but he gave a classic Lewis answer when asked if he'll play Monday night against the Los Angeles Rams.

"We'll see."

Burrow was out on the practice field during the open media portion of Thursday's practice, but no decision has been made if he will play in the Bengals' all-important Week 3 game against the club that defeated them in Super Bowl 56.

While Burrow did mention that the extra day off "gives you hope" for suiting up under the Monday night lights, the fourth-year quarterback will await the team's decision like everyone else

"That's not my decision to make," Burrow said of him playing this week. "I'm preparing like I'm playing. Whether I'm able to, I don't know."

The idea of Burrow playing a week following Sunday's loss to the Baltimore Ravens when Burrow tweaked his right calf on the final drive seemed more far fetched than it does now. The situation has been revealed to be a true day-to-day ordeal, which at least leaves the door open for anything.

Unfortunately, the Bengals aren't in a spot to drop any more games in the near future. Falling to 0-3 would be a practical death sentence for the season. The team's current 0-2 record is something that's not lost on Burrow as he goes through this week.

“That’s in my head. I’m thinking about it,” Burrow said.

He's not alone, and he's got two more practices to get through before any decision will likely be reached.
