The Cincinnati Bengals have quickly responded to Will Grier leaving the practice squad for the New England Patriots by bringing back Reid Sinnett.

Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, Sinnett will take Grier's place on the practice squad and may potentially be Cincinnati's QB2 this week if Joe Burrow cannot play.

Sinnett originally signed with the Bengals right after Burrow injured his calf in late July, taking reps as QB3 behind Jake Browning and Trevor Siemian. Sinnett was primarily just an extra arm to use in practice more than a competitor in the quarterback battle.

After watching the first two preseason games, Sinnett came in during the preseason finale and looked solid, completing six of 11 passes for 77 yards and a touchdown to rookie wideout Shedrick Jackson.

The Bengals could've retained Sinnett on their initial practice squad but opted to sign Grier instead. Now that Grier is on the Patriots' active roster, a spot for Sinnett became available.

While Burrow's injury does make the signing of Sinnett interesting, it's more of a clerical move to get three quarterbacks in the building. The Bengals will hope to keep Sinnett on the practice throughout the season to ensure they don't have to make another move to get back to three.
