The San Francisco 49ers' Week 13 clash with the Philadelphia Eagles is not a primetime game but, in terms of breadth of coverage, it may as well be.

San Francisco visits Philadelphia in a massive game in the NFC that will go a long way to deciding which team the conference runs through in the postseason.

The obvious and huge added layer of intrigue comes from the face this is a rematch of the NFC Championship Game from last season, with the Niners out to prove they would have prevailed in that encounter had Brock Purdy not suffered a torn elbow ligament on the first offensive series.

Will you be able to watch the game on TV?

For almost the entire country. The answer is yes.

Parts of Southern California and Ohio, along with some small areas of Pennsylvania, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky and West Virginia will see a different game as the Los Angeles Rams face the Cleveland Browns in the late window at SoFi Stadium.

Meanwhile, there is an enforced blackout in the Tampa area as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers host the Carolina Panthers in the late window on CBS.

The rest of the country will get 49ers-Eagles and the opportunity to see if the Niners can vindicate their surprising status as road favorites.

Purdy must vindicate 49ers' position

The 49ers opened as two-point favorites over the Eagles despite being two games behind 10-1 Philadelphia at 8-3 in the race for the one seed in the NFC.

That line has since stretched to three, with bookmakers and bettors clearly in agreement that most of the advantages line up in the 49ers’ favor.

The key edge San Francisco has is rest. The 49ers got three days extra rest after playing on Thanksgiving, whereas the Eagles went to overtime against the Buffalo Bills, their defense on the field for 92 plays.

Yet the primary question is whether Purdy can rise to the challenge of helping the 49ers go blow for blow with Jalen Hurts and the Eagles in a hostile road environment.

All the numbers suggest he will do so. Purdy is number one in the NFL by DVOA, DYAR and Expected Points Added per play. He is also first in every yards per attempt metric and both passer rating and QBR.

The Eagles are 17th in DVOA on defense and 23rd on that side of the ball by EPA per play, with Philadelphia proving especially vulnerable to passes over the middle of the field, the area that has long since been the favorite point of attack for 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan.

With the 49ers' defense having hit its stride once more under Steve Wilks to the point where that unit is fourth by EPA per play and sixth by DVOA, the Niners appear excellently set up to prove themselves as the superior team on what is, to all intents and purposes, a national stage. The only thing left is for them to do is to back up what all the numbers say and their own previous statements by overcoming a team they are desperate to topple.
