The Detroit Lions had a nice little mini bye week after their loss to the Packers on Thanksgiving and they come out of that little break with some good news and some bad news. Which do you want first? I'll just go with the good news.
The good news is that starting left guard Jonah Jackson has returned to practice after missing the last two games for the Lions. This will certainly help the Lions as they had a rough go with both Colby Sorsdal and Kayode Aowsika on Thursday. The Packers seem to attack them more than anyone. The Lions offensive line looks to be at full strength on Sunday.
The Lions also opened up the 21-day practice window for rookie quarterback Hendon Hooker. He practiced with the Lions for the firs time ever on Wednesday. He now has 21 days to be activated and added to the Lions 53-man roster or he will be sent to injured reserve for the rest of the year. He'll more than likely be added to the roster very soon.
The bad news is that Alex Anzalone missed practice for the Lions on Wednesday. He hurt his hand/wrist on Thursday. He did finish the game, but it's affecting him early in the week. The other thing is that his wife is slated to go into labor at any moment now.
Anzalone was the only Lions player currently on the roster that did not practice Wednesday.
We'll keep you updated on all of this as news comes in.
