When Carolina Panthers owner David Tepper fired Frank Reich, it was for several reasons.

However, chief among them was rookie quarterback Bryce Young's regression. Reich was supposed to be the team's first offensive coach, but the Panthers ranked near the bottom of the league in nearly every offensive statistical category.

Yet, even though Reich is no longer coaching the Panthers, Young still came to his defense when asked about his head coach's departure.

"We never want to see people get fired," Reich said. "We wanted to come in and conquer things together and accomplish our goals together. We all take responsibility for that."

He added: "We all take ownership, especially offensively. It's all of us. We all want to do better. It's a collective unit. There's no finger-pointing from players or coaches. Nothing. We all could have been better."

Young's rookie year has been one for the record books, not in a good way. He ranks 30th in yards per attempt this season, and his 4.2 yards per dropback is the second worst among 62 qualified rookies since 2000.

That falls on Reich not putting Young in a place to succeed, but also the offensive line hasn't helped.

Reich may be gone, but Young isn't willing to put the blame entirely on him for the Panthers' 1-10 record. That falls on everyone's shoulders, namely Young himself.
