The blowout nature of the San Francisco 49ers' Week 13 win over the Philadelphia Eagles might have surprised many.
But the strangest thing to happen at Lincoln Financial Field did not concern 42-19 final score, but a security guard who somehow ended up in the thick of the action in an altercation with a member of the 49ers.
San Francisco linebacker Dre Greenlaw was ejected with just over nine minutes remaining in the third quarter after taking a swing at Eagles chief security officer Dom Disandro on the sideline.
Disandro appeared to put his hands on Greenlaw during an incident that ensued after a personal foul was called on the 49er defender for slamming DeVonta Smith to the turf after his progress was stopped.
Afterwards, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni apologized to Kyle Shanahan for Disandro's actions, though the 49ers head coach was still clearly irritated by what occurred when he spoke to the media in his post-game press conference.
"I didn't get to see it all from where I'm at but once I start hearing people explain it to me, I just can't believe somebody not involved in a football game can taunt our players like that and put his hands in our guy's face," said Shanahan.
"From what I was told, Dre did it back to him, I was told he kind of mashed him in the face a little bit so he got ejected but it was a very frustrating play, I've got to watch it again before I can have a true opinion on it, but I loved how we rallied after."
After the flags moved the Eagles to the 49ers' 12-yard line and they then converted a third and long, Jalen Hurts scored on the 'tush push', injecting life into the home crowd hoping for an Eagles turnaround.
But the 49ers ensured it never happened, Deebo Samuel scoring the second of his three touchdowns on a 48-yard catch and run to restore a two-touchdown lead that ballooned to a 23-point advantage as San Francisco prevented a bizarre moment from becoming a turning point in the contest.
