Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow didn't play in his team's win on Monday night against the Jacksonville Jaguars due to the wrist injury that prematurely ended his season, but he was still at the center of headlines on Tuesday morning.
And it had nothing to do with anything that Burrow did during the game.
Instead, it was because of a tasteless remark from ESPN play-by-play announcer Joe Buck who, for some unknown reason, tried to make a joke about Burrow's wrist injury.
After Bengals running back Joe Mixon scored in the second quarter, the play was debated for a moment with NFL rules analyst John Parry about whether or not Mixon's wrist touched the ground before the ball crossed the plane of the goal line.
That's when Buck said they should just "ask Joe Burrow" if the wrist is part of the hand.
I don't know what would posses Buck to make that kind of comment. Or why he thinks it would be even remotely funny.
Just another reason to watch the ManningCast (when Peyton and Eli aren't off) over ESPN's main Monday night broadcast.
Bengals QB Joe Burrow is in his feelings big time
