Frank Reich knows being 1-9 isn't where most predicted the Carolina Panthers to be when the season started at the tail end of the summer.

Following the Panthers' 33-10 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, Reich did what most leaders should do when things don't go as planned. — apologize.

"When you work hard and you believe in the guys you’re doin’ it with, and I believe in our coaches and players, not getting results you want is frustrating," Reich said. "So I’m frustrated, most of all, for them. But I’m certainly frustrated for the fans as well."

Reich's apology to fans is more than warranted. He was hired to be an offensive mind for rookie quarterback Bryce Young. His offense has been anything but consistent.

When he reclaimed play-calling duties, the Panthers offense didn't get much better. Carolina scored one offensive touchdown. A far cry from what Reich intended. So, an apology isn't only warranted. It is deserved for the fans and players like Brian Burns, who have never experienced a winning season while playing in Carolina.

"I’ve been in this game a long time," Reich said. "I’ve had a great appreciation for fan bases wherever I’ve been and what that means to a team and what that means to a city. So I understand the level of frustration by the fans."

The saying goes actions over words. The Panthers are still waiting for the actions.
