The Colts drafted BYC WR Collie with the 127th pick in the 4th round of the 2009 NFL Draft. He quickly became a fan favorite with an impressive career start over his first two seasons. Unfortunately, injuries would derail his career, and he would only spend five seasons in the NFL, four of which were with the Colts. Collie appeared in 49 games with the Colts and recorded 179 catches, 1,908 yards, and 16 touchdowns.
As well as being a former Colts player, Collie had a deeper connection that brought him to practice on Thursday. Collie spent his high school years at Oak Ridge High School in El Dorado Hill, California. Throwing passes to Collie back in high school was none other than current Colts head coach Shane Steichen.
Their friendship seems to have lasted over the years, and the duo reunited today at the Colts final practice of the week. Collie also shared his thoughts on the Colts hiring of Steichen shortly after the announcement was made via his personal X (Twitter) account.
