Will they or won't they?
This is the biggest question in New England right now, with many speculating about whether Bill Belichick's time with the Patriots will come to an end after this season.
And according to some insiders, owner Robert Kraft has already made his decision.
But one insider has come out with a different report and this one is not to be taken lightly.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that this decision has not been made yet to part ways with the head coach.
"While the expectation is that a decision on his future will play out over the next month, sources also say it could take longer than that," Rapoport wrote.
He further added that "sources say not only has owner Robert Kraft not come to a firm conclusion on what will happen next with his head-coaching situation, but the way New England finishes could go a long way in determining what's next."
The Patriots ended a five-game losing streak last week, defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers in a primetime matchup on Thursday night. However, this week they will have to face off against the reigning Super Bowl champions.
And with the struggles Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs have had lately, they won't go down without a fight.
During this past offseason, Belichick signed a contract extension that puts him under contract for the 2023 and 2024 season. But nobody could have predicted that the Patriots would be entering Week 15 with a 3-10 record.
Because of that, fans are calling for a change and Belichick is at the top of that list.
However, people seem to be forgetting about the six Super Bowl championships that he brought to New England.
There is no denying that he is one of the greatest coaches in the history of the NFL, but it's his duties as a general manager that have seemed to fail in recent years since Tom Brady's departure.
The reports regarding Belichick all contradict themselves at the moment, making it clear that no one will truly know what Kraft and the organization will decide to do until the conclusion of the season.
Might be time for all this speculation to end, and let's just see how it plays out.
